How did you end up in your fascinating role at Rittal?

"Thanks to friends, family and local media, I was aware of Rittal as a permanent fixture in the central Hesse region. I always said, if a vacancy comes up in the communications department, I’ll apply. And one day it did. I left another sector to start afresh in the industry and IT world, and haven’t regretted my decision for a moment."

What were your first impressions of Rittal, and how were you received?
Especially in the first few weeks, I realised what it meant to work for a family-owned enterprise. Despite the company’s size, many of my coworkers took the time to show me their work, offer assistance, and make me feel welcome. What I love is that the management is very approachable and regularly enters into direct dialogue with all employees.

Can you describe a typical working day?
To be perfectly honest, there’s no such thing as a typical day, and that’s precisely what makes my job so interesting. One day I might be observing my coworkers in production, the next I might be reporting live from a trade fair or press conference on social media. And in between I’m at my desk polishing copy for blogs, social media posts or one of our magazines.

What do you enjoy most about working for Rittal?
For me, visiting a colleague in an unfamiliar department and immersing myself in their world is always a highlight. Since I started working for Rittal, I now understand what edge computing is and what is actually meant by Industry 4.0.

What’s the best thing about your coworkers’ attitudes at Rittal?
There’s a common saying that Rittal employees have a special DNA, with the urge to continuously improve and refine things, and to anticipate what solutions might be needed in the future. This way of thinking is simply contagious.

Your motto for living?
