Work placement for school students

Dear students,

The Hessian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs has decided that no work experience placements will be allowed in companies until the easter holidays in 2021.

We will inform you as soon as there are any changes.

We provide work placements for school students typically in industrial/technical areas. The students will gain detailed insights into the corresponding profession as well as hands-on experience of producing their own workpiece.

“Girls Day”

We are delighted to give students the opportunity to experience business operations at first hand. We regularly take part in "Girls' Day", when we invite female students from year 5 to year 10 to take part in a one-day work placement. This gives them an insight into some typically male-dominated professions. A tour of the factory is followed by some hands-on work, for example in the training workshop.

A long-term work placement with development opportunities

If you haven't yet found an apprenticeship/internship by the autumn of a qualifying year, we have a special offer for you If you meet certain requirements, you could start a state-funded long-term work placement with us. If you are a hands-on person, this could be your chance to shine!

From intern to trainee

During your internship, you will already be working in your preferred vocation and attending the relevant college courses. Good performance might give you the opportunity to be taken on as a trainee, with up to 6 months of your work placement counting towards your overall requirements. The internship will end at the start of the new training year.

As this type of work placement is partially funded by the German Employment Agency (Agentur für Arbeit), please contact your local work coach to ask whether this program is an option for you. The long-term work placement even comes with a small monthly salary!
