EU initiatives on greenhouse gas emissions from refrigerants

“In the context of tightening their climate protection measures, the European Union’s institutions are currently negotiating a stronger regulation of the substances contained in refrigerants. In focus here are the so-called F-gases (fluorinated greenhouse gases) and the “eternal chemicals” PFAS (perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances), which are also used in Rittal cooling devices and chillers.

As a company, we are in close contact with authorities, associations and our customers to provide relevant information so that we can always offer legally compliant solutions. We are following EU-level legislative processes very closely and are involved at the political level in Brussels and Berlin through the appropriate associations to represent the interests of our customers as well as possible. At present, no result can be foreseen in either case. We will provide you with further information here as soon as these negotiations lead to decisions being made.”
