Nothing runs in enclosures without power. However, optimum cable entry needs to be guaranteed to ensure that power enters the enclosure safety, and the protection category of the enclosure is maintained. Rittal is helping its customers to quickly comply with their requirements with the appropriate accessories, always guaranteeing the requisite IP protection.
All enclosures are unique. Each one is different – particularly the interior fit-out. However, whatever the interior fit-out, cable entry always needs to be guaranteed to supply power. The crucial aspect here is that the protection category of the enclosure is always maintained. After all, the primary purpose of an enclosure is to protect and be sealed against external influences, including all kinds of dust and moisture.
Rittal has a range of special sections for cable entry with a flexible foam rubber cable clamp strip (Image 1) to enable plant manufacturers to simply and flexibly insert and then securely fit their cables using the modular fittings in the base of the enclosure. In this case, the section is attached to the gland plates. Thus, when fitting the mounting plate in the preferred installation position, the cables can be routed directly to a cable clamp rail without the need for large bending radii. The cable entry and the mounting plate are thus perfectly coordinated, and everything sits in its proper position.
Alongside the foam sections, Rittal accessories also enable cable entry grommets to be used that are attached to a cable entry plate. Different sizes of cable entry sections ensure that the most diverse cable diameters are perfectly sealed (Image. 2).
These options enable Rittal to provide two simple and fast methods of sealing inserted cables in the base of enclosures. Rittal-quality cable entry is thus guaranteed and life can be breathed into the electronics.
