New talk format focussing on the challenges and aims of the ‘Energy Transition’

Rittal invites experts to “Energy Flash” online talks

The “All Electric Society” is the vision of a sustainable, eco-friendly society. But achieving this goal requires the fundamental transformation of the energy infrastructure and a switch to renewable energy sources. We can only do this by working together. Rittal is therefore bringing experts from the energy sector together with digitalisation experts: the new “Energy Flash” online talk format will launch on 26 April with a talk entitled “OneEnergy – Learning for the Future Today. Challenges of the Energy Transition”.

“Many countries have adopted policies to promote the use of renewable energy sources and reduce the consumption of fossil fuels. However, the ‘energy transition’ also requires the modernisation of the energy infrastructure, improved energy efficiency, and reduced energy consumption. This is a mammoth combined task for politicians, business and society,” explains Raphael Görner, Head of the Power & Energy Business Unit at Rittal, and continues: “It is important to foster an ex-change of experiences and joint efforts, and to systematically shape the energy transition.”

Raphael Görner is, therefore, bringing experts from the energy sector together with digitalisation experts in the new “Energy Flash” online talk format – a combination of news, interviews, discussion panels and workshop. This is intended to be a platform for an exchange of knowledge and development of ideas, with the aim of learning from each other and finding solutions for current and future challenges. Issues, including intelligent power grids, renewable energy sources, battery storage, charging infrastructure and hydrogen applications, have a key role to play in this.

In “Energy Flash No.1” on 26 April at 13:30, Raphael Görner will be discussing the issue of “OneEnergy – Learning for the Future Today. Challenges of the Energy Transition.” Jan Oliver Kammesheidt, Eplan Global Vertical Market Manager Energy, will be the guest speaker.

“We will need intelligent and standardised solutions and systems along the entire energy supply chain to industrialise the construction and conversion of substations, energy storage systems or charging infrastructure,” explains Jan Oliver Kammesheidt, and continues: “Among other things, we will be discussing the challenges that power generators, grid operators and users face throughout the energy system and how modular hardware and software platforms can help to cleverly connect the various stakeholders in the ecosystem.”

Discussions with other experts from associations and partner companies are planned for future energy-related online talks.
