Dr Marc Sesterhenn named Managing Director, Operations, at Rittal

Dr Marc Sesterhenn has been appointed Managing Director Operations at industrial enclosure specialist Rittal, headquartered in Herborn, Germany, effective 1 October 2021. He is therefore now a member of the Management Board.

Dr Marc Sesterhenn (48) has been appointed Managing Director Operations, at Rittal, a leading provider of industrial and IT enclosures, effective 1 October 2021. His responsibilities include German production facilities in Haiger, Rittershausen and Hof, as well as international manufacturing sites in China, India, the USA, Italy and the UK.

In his new post, Dr Sesterhenn will focus on the further development of the company’s international production network, and digital integration of Rittal manufacturing operations worldwide. The new Rittal plant in Haiger for compact enclosures is already fully digitally integrated, and will act as a role model for the global player’s other production sites.

Dr Marc Sesterhenn joins Rittal from Rohde & Schwarz in Munich, where he was most recently Executive Vice President of Operations and member of the Executive Board. From 2003 to 2016, he held a number of senior operations management roles at MAN Truck & Bus, including the position of Executive Board member responsible for production at MAN Truck & Bus Austria from 2012 to 2016.

Dr Sesterhenn studied engineering at RWTH Aachen and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also gained a degree in business engineering at RWTH Aachen and earned his doctorate in engineering there. He is originally from Cologne.
